Are you informed about your vote?
For some time now my Grandmother has been telling me that voting rules were changing. Being the youthful and somewhat hard headed grandchild that I can be at times, I neglected to follow up on her words of wisdom at the time that she was giving it to me. However, I always take heed to my grandmother's words sooner or later.
Today while visiting her she showed me an article in Ebony's July 2012 Issue (which features a very beautiful Kelly Rowland and a very shirtless Trey Songz on the cover).
The article, written by Michèle Alexandre, is entitled "Will Your Vote Be Counted in November", and it discusses new ID laws taking place in various states across the U.S that will affect how we vote.
After reading the article I became more aware of the trickery behind this new law, and how detrimental it could be on the upcoming elections.
I advice you all to read this article, because I believe that everyone, especially members of the African American community, should be informed on these new requirements .
The article's author, Michèle Alexandre, worked as a civil rights attorney for some time, and it brings me great joy to acknowledge that she is currently a faculty member at the University of Mississippi School of Law (Ole Miss). I will be attending there as a student this upcoming Fall, and I look forward to meeting her.

Dear Reader
Dear Reader,
It feels like I have been away for YEARS, but you should know that I have truly missed you. You should know that my journey up until a little over a month ago has been an epic one. THANK GOD, on May 5, 2012 I officially gained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications- Public Relations, and now undergraduate life is far behind. However, know that it was in no way an easy triumph, but in the end all of the hard work was well worth it. I am proud to say that I was Mississippi Valley State University's Class of 2012's Salutatorian. Also, I am proud to say that I finished with an overall G.P.A of 3.94.
I have never been one to bask in glory for long because I know that there is always much more to accomplish. I say this to let you (Readers) know that I am about to embark on another epic journey in my life. In August 2012 I will officially be a Law Student at the University of Mississippi's School of Law, and I could not be happier.
Dear Reader, this is the part of the story where I tell you about the NEW DIRECTION of this blog. Are you excited? I hope you are. Well up until this point my blog has been mostly all ENTERTAINMENT, and do not get me wrong I love providing entertainment news. However, I have to find away to keep this blog current while in Law School, and I know with the intense amount of work that I will have as a 1L that there is NO WAY that I can do a ton of entertainment breaks and still focus on Law. So, this blog will now be about the life of a Young Woman in Law School. I will keep you updated on my journey to accomplish another epic achievement in my life, as often as possible.
Do not be alarmed if I do not post everyday, every week, or, even, every month. Just know that I will always have something interesting to talk about or discuss when I do, and STAY TUNED!

It's My BIRTHDAY ! Happy Deuce Deuce !!
Today is my 22nd Birthday ! It is a very special day to me, in fact, even more special than 21. This birthday is special to me because I feel accomplished. I have made it through 21 without any regrets. Being 21 brought on a lot of new responsibilities, but I weathered the storm and here I am at another age. I thank GOD for blessing me to see this day. Also, I thank my many relatives and friends that have and continue to show me love throughout the day. I really appreciate you all more than you know. I have decided to do a count down from my big day to the beginning. I will do something for every number that I have been alive. Hope you enjoy.
